"Absolutely thrilled! When I was booking, I saw the hotel was quite old, and some customer photos made me worry it might be run-down. I hesitated a lot, but its incredibly convenient location ultimately swayed me to book. Turns out, after checking in, it was far better than I ever expected!
First off, the location is unbeatable. You can take an elevator directly to the hotel from both the first and third floors of the train station. From the 7th-floor lobby, an escalator takes you straight down to Amu Mall. And especially in summer, being able to go in and out without ever stepping into the scorching sun? A true lifesaver!
Facilities: Not dated in the slightest; it doesn't show its age visually. While the rooms aren't huge and the amenities are simple, they are extremely clean, and the bed was very comfortable!
Service: Excellent and very friendly. Self-service luggage storage is also available, which is incredibly convenient!
Honestly, it's wonderful! This will absolutely be my first choice for future visits to Kokura."
"Location of hotel is very good, Level 2 has a sheltered walkway linked to Kokura station. When exit from the door, turn right to take the route towards stadium, this is faster as it has a travellator. It’s less walking than walking towards Lawson and pass the anime building to the same kokura station entrance. From kokura, can access many malls such as Vierra, AMU plaza, Saintcity and etc. If the tower floor has discount, highly recommend to take it as the amenities are good and refilled each day of the stay. Free access to Tower library which is a quiet and cozy area to chill and enjoy the free drinks with a nice view. There are hot and iced coffee, tea, calpis, Minute Maid etc. Breakfast set menu for tower room only is good, had a special fish dish on the both days I went, service is top notch. Buffet spread at level 1 is good too, has many tasty selections. After the buffet, can even takeaway a cup of coffee from the entrance coffee machine."
"I stayed in the main building, not the new building, so the room was relatively small and the facilities were not new. But the price was affordable, the location was convenient, and the cost performance was high. It was a good choice for traveling alone. The breakfast was very rich!"
"1. Very spacious room for this price point to be honest. Could be because it's not a major city...
2. Kitchen equipment like induction cooker and pot and bowls and utensils were provided! Makes it possible to cook your own meals (or even just Maggie mee) fridge was very big so can buy drinks to store
3. Location was alright. Located along small alley but very near main road leading to shopping street and Kokura station.
4. Aircon and heater worked well. Great for winter weather
5. Bathroom ventilator was very strong. To the extent that it feels very cold after taking a shower. We tried closing the bathroom door at night and it was literally like a freezer in the morning when we open it.
But also because of the ventilator, our clothes dried fast indoors 🥶
6. Now to the pain points. First got to be the facility management and check in check out process. This property does auto check in meaning there is no physical staff to handle your check in check out throughout. There is no receptionist at all. I made my booking 2- 3 hours prior to arriving at property. At the front door we were prompted to input entry passcode which we had no idea what it was (it's not the reservation number provided by the booking partner like Agoda or trip.com) tried to contact both the hotel helpline (there was a Jp phone number at the entrance but that's all, no other info whatsoever) and also escalated to Agoda (as I made my booking through Agoda for first nights) but no ans. In the end we had to enter property when someone unlocked the front entrance using her own passcode before we could speak to the helpdesk through the tablets.
So it turns out that they claim most travellers would make their reservation at least a day prior to arrival, which was why system didn't capture my booking (yet ironically they allowed booking for same day check in .... When they clearly cannot manage the whole process) shouldn't there be more effort being put in to monitor for same day booking so the traveller doesn't get stuck at the front entrance especially in winter weather? We had to sit at the park nearby while trying to contact the helpdkesks but couldn't get through till the end......
The whole check in process was rather manual, basically you enter the info as prompted on screen then video call the helpline agent to verify before you'll get your passcode to your room. (All through tablet)
Security seems alright if you're ok with the idea of using a keypad lock instead of having a physical room card? I guess customers just have to always make sure no one is looking when entering the passcode at the front door. Btw same passcode is used to enter hotel front entrance and for your room lock.
All in all the biggest issue we found was the check in check out process. Overall stay was above average."
"I recently stayed at this hotel and had a fantastic experience. The location is unbeatable, just a stone's throw from JR Kokura Station, making it incredibly convenient for travel. The area surrounding the hotel is brimming with food options, including late-night eateries, which is perfect for a midnight snack.
In addition to the food, the hotel is situated near a bustling shopping district and a shopping centre, making it easy to indulge in some retail therapy. There's also another local train station close by, which adds to the convenience.
The room itself was very clean and satisfying, providing a comfortable environment for my stay. The only minor downside was that the toilet was a bit small, but it didn't detract significantly from the overall experience.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for its prime location, cleanliness, and convenience. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit."
"I am more than satisfied for my two-night stay at Hotel LiVEMAX Kokura. Not only does it have an excellent location (right next to Kokura Station), it is equipped with a microwave in each individual room. The room is clean, spacious, and bright. I cannot ask for more as it is truly a value for money hotel. If I ever visit Japan again, I will definitely put Hotel LiVEMAX first on my list."
"I stayed alone, and it was right in front of Kokura Station, so the location was really great. As is typical of Japanese hotels, the rooms are small, and the bathroom was especially small. There was no problem when I used it alone, and it was great because it had TV and YouTube. I want to go there again next time I visit Kitakyushu."
"Stayed for 2 nights. Location was near to train station. Breakfast was awesome, as compared to other hotels that provided complimentary for guests. Paid parking just behind hotel."
"Have a night stay at this hotel. Location is nearby Mojiko station. Could see the Blue Wing Moji Bridge. Room is clean and size is considering ok for a couple. Easy to find restaurants at the surrounding. Night view was great."
"The hotel is close to the Kokura station, on the north side which is not as busy as the south side. The room is perfect for a solo traveller, might be tight for 2 people. My room overlooked a train track and you can see the train pass by. It's not noisy though. Lots of comic books available to borrow to your room (register at receptionist) for when the weather is bad. And free breakfast and dinner with rice, curry, tea, coffee and juice. Staff spoke little English but they have printed information available in English to explain the facilities, rules and how things work."

Great
GGuest UserI stayed with my child, but the semi-double bed was comfortable and the illuminated Iwato Bridge was visible from the room up close, which was very beautiful. There was also a large public bath, so we could relax and it was great value for money. I would like to use it again.
헤헤수스Perfect if you have an early flight in the morning. The hotel is just 5-8 min walking from the airport. The staff was very polite and really helfull, they speak japanese, english and korean. For breakfast you get different options of rice; bread, fish, etc. If you don't want to eat in the dinning area, you can bring the food to your room. Also, you can always walk to the airport and get food and drinks at the convenience store. Keep in mind there is nothing besides the airport and the hotel, so don't expect much. This is perfect to rest before or after a flight.
MMr Adam PorterWe were visiting to watch the rugby at the Mikuni World Stadium and wanted somewhere to stay near by. This place was an absolute gem, incredible room, huge jet bath with TV, breakfast served in bed and the best part was the view from the balcony included the Mikuni World Stadium. Staff were amazing, they didn’t speak English but were very quick to assist and help. They received post for me before my arrival which they gave to me as soon as I arrived, there was a private lounge area to rest and refresh when we arrived too early to check in. I would certainly revisit, especially if you’re headed to the stadium. I wish I’d taken more photos of the amazing room!
AAnonymous UserThis room type is sufficient for 4. Would be nice if hotel explains how to set up room. Futon is much thinner than the 12 tatami mat room type. Was difficult to enquire room rate and extension from front desk, ended up just booking on trip.com directly, much easier snd hassle free.
AAzeem VasanwalaThe staff are super helpful and kind. If there's no parking in the parking lot they let you park in the nearby mall and reimburse that. Parking is 800yen per night. Breakfast is a spread of various breads, some rice and meat items, yogurt and scrambled eggs. Cleanliness was great, amenities like razors and combs were available upon request. The location is a little out of the way, so if you have a car it's about 20-30 mins to the city center. Not sure about public transport. All in all a great experience
MMikyojieThe apartment is very good, the room is super big, the bathroom is also super big, the only drawback may be that the sound insulation outside the window is a bit poor, it's a pity that the price has increased a lot if I book another night, otherwise I will definitely stay a few more days
GGuest UserLocation is walkable from the JR station, surrounding malls and tourist spots, while not being in the centre of it all, making it a quiet and comfortable stay. There are many buses nearby so taking the bus instead of train was a good option to have. Walking distance can also be reduced sometimes via taking the bus. At the same time, the airport bus is at the JR station, so it was very convenient. The hotel while a little dated, is well maintained with floors segregated by non-smoking and smoking. Luggage deposit before and after is also available and the staff are very helpful with that. The bedside console comes with an alarm clock and even a music player where ambience music can be played - it is a very nice touch to have!!
GGuest UserThough location is a little far but the free shuttle bus to and fro Orio station made is super convenient for an onsen retreat. There's a direct bus from Kitakyushu Airport to Orio station too, which makes it even better. Thankfully, the staff kindly took note of the shuttle reservation request made during booking, otherwise, it would have been very inconvenient to contact them and expensive to get to the resort by other means. They left a note to check the official website for pick-up point but there was no specific information - something that can be improved. The location was found to be BEHIND Maxvalue Shop (see first few photos). The resort is visited by mainly locals so it was helpful to see and ask them for confirmation.
Facilities might a bit old but generally clean so it was okay. The room is nice and comfortable, particularly the view. It was very nice to see the hotel using reusable wares with even a refillable jug to get water from a machine at the shared space. Both sides of the natural onsen is switched between male and female everyday. Supper tantan noodles is great! Breakfast is not bad with both fusion western style and traditional Japanese options. It was a very nice and relaxing time!
GGuest UserOverall an excellent hotel, uses an automated system for contacting.
to receive service There isn't any receptionist. But the only way to contact the hotel when there is a problem is the phone number. We encountered a problem that we did not receive an e-mail from the hotel regarding the entrance code and check-in method. And this time, roaming was not turned on. Makes you feel uncomfortable enough. But when you call The staff at the other end of the line can speak English and provide good explanations.
Ssai HyaIn conclusion, it was the best accommodation for this trip, but there were several issues.
Obviously, there is a luggage storage service in the accommodation service, but when I arrived, it was operated unmanned and I couldn't get any service. It's ridiculous to start your journey with your luggage.
And there was an issue in my room where the door lock didn't work, and I was able to solve this problem in an hour through a conversation with the manager. (The door wasn't closed tight, so I had to push it with strength.)
The room was in the best condition and everything in the bathroom and toilet was good. There were some inconveniences, but I told the master well and said that he would fix it, so I think it will be a better hotel.
